Laglio

George Clooney's summer residence

Laglio is a little village composed of about a thousand inhabitants. It is a charming flat village, very calm and it is perfect if you want to have a relaxing walk or cycle, enjoying the beauties of the lake.

In Laglio there is The seventeenth-century San Giorgio Church, decorated by Stefano Saltieri (a Laglio citizen), which contains very splendid pieces of art, pictures and sculptures.

Also the cemetery of the village is worth to see, inside of it there is a nineteenth- century funeral monument 20 meters tall.
Furthermore, you can visit Villa Melograno, a luxurious eighteenth-century villa, built in the Vergonzano Hamlet. In the Torriggia Hamlet there is Grotta Buca dell’Orso, a 150 meters long cavern whose name refers to the finding of the rests of the prehistoric Cavern Bear.

Nowadays the city is renowned because of Villa Oleandra, a holiday villa bought by the famous actor George Clooney. The villa made him fell in love and he had to buy it.

Not even George Clooney resisted to the charm of Laglio and its unique Panorama.
