Argegno

A village overlooking the lake

Argegno is one of the most frequented villages of Como Lake because of its incredible beauty. It includes touristic areas such as Castiglione San Fedele, but also calmest hamlets.

The most characteristic places of this village are Belvedere di Pigra, in front of Como Lake and Lanzo, in front of Lugano Lake. You also can’t miss the visit to the most ancient hamlet of the village.

It is divided in two different parts because of the passage of Telo Stream and, the two parts are connected by a little and characteristic bridge.

Some historic evidences, such as some headstones referring to the Consul Publio Cesio Archigene, make us think to a Romanian origin.

We also suggest to visit the Sant’Anna Shrine, dated 1700 and which preserves some frescos and the beautiful Church of SS. Trinità, built
during the XX century.

Also the excursion with the funicular railway at Piana di Pigra is very interesting.
By here you can enjoy an incredible view.
